ABOUT TREATMENT

MY APPROACH

My approach to therapy is highly client-centered, transparent, and collaborative. I strive to use evidenced-based techniques to foster increased self-awareness, reduce emotional suffering, and help you create the change you want. In order to tailor treatment to meet your needs, the first couple sessions are generally focused on getting to know you, your current goals, strengths, and life experiences. Treatment will then progress based on your needs. Many concerns can be addressed with short-term treatment, while more complex concerns may require more intensive or longer-term treatment.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Therapy sessions are generally scheduled weekly and typically last 45 minutes, though longer sessions are sometimes offered/needed for some specific treatments. During the early stages of treatment I will work collaboratively with you to identify an appropriate treatment plan given your unique goals and priorities.

FIRST APPOINTMENT

Your initial appointment will generally be scheduled for 60 minutes. During this time you and I will discuss your reasons for seeking treatment, your symptom history, and other information needed to develop a plan for your on-going treatment. You will also receive information regarding  practice policies and will have a chance to discuss your own questions and concerns.
